Professor Emeritus Shigeto Tsuru was selected from the Institute Economic Research as the first president of the IER, and served four terms from 1949 to 1956, as well as from 1965 to 1967. Basic policies of the institute that Tsuru decided when he was the president later became the base of the IER and its library, which is shown through its collections.
From these background, in autumn of 2003 enormous amount of collection were donated by Professor Emeritus Tsuru to the IER. If you wish to see the archives, please let us know beforehand. Part of the archives are displayed at TSURU Shigeto Memorial Corner in the library.
