“Economic Growth and Education Stocks in East Asia”
Yoshihisa Godo (Faculty of Economics, Meiji Gakuin University)

This paper provides nearly 100-year-long detailed estimates for education stocks in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines and the United States. The average number of years of schooling per person by gender, age group, and level and type of education are estimated. The author hopes that future researchers use this paper's dataset as a ‘public good’ to analyze the macroeconomic role of education.
