“Wage Differentials and Work Incentives -Information and Complementarity-”
Masahiro Abe (The Institute of Economic Research, Hitotsubashi University)

This paper investigates how information about wage differences among employees affects work incentives. The results of the analysis here indicate that not only the wage system and personnel management, but also information about wage differences has an effect on the incentive to work. More specifically, if wage differences between employees are too well known, it tends to depress the incentive to work.
