■The Project on Intergenerational Equity (PIE) is one of top-priority research projects sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan. The project was launched in October 2000 at the Institute of Economic Research, Hitotsubashi University, and has proceeded to the stage 2 since July 2006.
